SR 202, Design Build
CDG provided final design services for this 9.5 mile project on the Red Mountain Freeway in east Phoenix, Arizona in a fast track design/build project delivery method. The design included the renovation and retrofit of all disturbed landscape and irrigation systems including the development and implementation of the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan and temporary erosion control plans for the construction of this large scale public works effort.

The plan required close coordination with ADOT,  the City of Phoenix, Design Engineers and the Contractor to ensure compliance with AZPDES during all  aspects of the construction staging, roadway widening and landscape installation efforts, landscape design as well as coordination of the habitat plan with the COE. This project was the recipient of the 2010 Marvin Black Excellence in Partnering Award and 2011 ACEC Engineering Excellence Grand Award.
